  • Homestead moves to the second race of the season, behind the Daytona 500

  • May 23 – Circuit of the Americas – New track for 2021
  • June 13 – All Star race at Texas Motor Speedway
  • June 20 – Nashville SuperSpeedway – New track for 2021
  • June 26-27 – Pocono Doubleheader – Only 2021 doubleheader
  • July 4 – Road America – New track for 2021
  • July 11 – Second date for Atlanta
  • 2 weeks off for the Olympics
  • Aug 15 – Indianapolis Road Course – Replaces the Brickyard 400 – New(ish) track for 2021
  • Aug. 22 – Michigan’s only Cup race for 2021. Will not have a truck race
  • Playoffs remain the same for 2021 with the exception of a Texas/Kansas swap in the Round of 8.

  • Kentucky off the schedule
  • 2021 Rules Released
    • Essentially the same as this year
    • Darlington and Nashville races will be run with the 750hp low downforce package
    • 23 of 36 races will be low downforce 750hp races
  • Indycar also released its 2021 schedule Thursday
    • Doubleheaders in Texas and Detroit
    • Only four oval races for a series that began as an oval-only series. Two at Texas, one at Indy and one at Gateway
    • No race in Iowa — seems to help confirm that Iowa is dead
    • Two races on Indy road course
    • Only new track is Nashville Street Course
