  • NASCAR puts the season on hold
    • During last week’s podcast the NBA suspended its season
    • NBA was followed by the NHL
    • MLB announced it was putting spring training on hold
    • Last Thursday NASCAR announced that the races at Atlanta and Homestead would be run without fans. 
    • Friday word started circulating that we were going to run the truck race Friday night and the Xfinity and Cup races Saturday
    • Friday afternoon NASCAR announced the postponement of Atlanta and Homestead
    • Monday, NASCAR announced that it would postpone all the races until Martinsville May 3rd.
      • Officials say they plan to run the full 36-race season.
      • Could use mid-week races, doubleheaders to finish the season quicker
      • Could run without fans in order to come back quicker
      • Plans to keep playoffs intact and end season at Phoenix
  • Discussion: Did NASCAR handle this correctly? 
  • Last Sunday we had The Replacements 100, an iRacing race at Atlanta featuring several Cup drivers and others in the NASCAR industry. 
    • Josh Williams, who is Ryan Blaney’s sponsor, beat iRacing king William Byron to win the race. 
  • NASCAR announced yesterday during it’s Coca-Cola eNASCAR iRacing Series the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series. 
    • Multi-week series kicks off Sunday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m.
    • Includes competitors from the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Truck Series, ARCA and other NASCAR dignitaries. 
      • Confirmed competitors announced include: 
        • Dale Earnhardt Jr. 
        • Kyle Busch
        • Denny Hamlin
        • Clint Bowyer
        • Kyle Larson
        • Christopher Bell
  • Dale Jr. and Amy Earnhardt are having another child
  • NASCAR announces deal to repurpose surplus land
